Along our 21 day speaking tour, we’ve met many “gems” along the way in America’s small towns and big cities. Matt and I are spreading the word about human trafficking and modern slavery with virtually everyone we meet. Here are a few of our new friends:
Darlene runs a store full of beautiful treasures on Main Street in the quaint town of Quartzsite. Someday, tourists from Asia are going to discover this relatively unknown place. (I’ll post the name of her store when I find her name card!).
Nualani is a businesswoman from Hawaii and I struck up a chat with her in the hotel lobby in San Francisco. We immediately connected over our common philanthropy work in raising funds for victims of sex trafficking and ended up having a wonderful conversation.
Hank is from Quartzsite and speaks like an auctioneer. A brilliant man who deeply loves what he does at this store, talking about the various gems and crystals and precious rocks with gems inside of them.
We’ll post more on the extraordinary people we’ve met working on addressing slavery… soon. Tonight we are still in Phoenix, Arizona. 107 degrees Fahrenheit here!
