Matt Friedman speaking at the Annual Metro Rotary Luncheon in Omaha

Blog post about our Road to Freedom national speaking tour across the U.S.

Over 200 Rotarians attended the Annual Metro Rotary Luncheon hosted by Omaha West Rotary Club this past week with several Rotary groups and business leaders attending. The keynote speaker was Matt Friedman.

Suburban Rotary of Omaha wrote on its Facebook page, “[Matt’s] message about the 45 million people languishing in slavery in TODAY in 2016 was quite sobering. Consider joining the Rotarian Action Group Against Child Slavery as a first step in becoming involved in ridding the world of this scourge.”

Thank you to Jennifer Jirak-BrungardtExecutive Director of Suburban Rotary of Omaha and Karen RolfAssociate Professor at the Grace Abbott School of Social Work at UNO for your gracious and wonderful assistance in setting up the 3 large events in Omaha:  at the University of Nebraska at Omaha jointly sponsored by the UNO’s College of Business Administration, Grace Abbott School of Social Work and Schumacher Chair of Ethics; and the city-wide event at Roncalli Catholic High school with Stephen Patrick O’Meara, the Human Trafficking Coordinator of the Nebraska Attorney General’s office; and the annual Rotary event.

This was an amazing city to visit. We are seeing the beginnings of a great anti-trafficking movement in Omaha.
